Welcome Cocktail Evening Monday 27 Nov. 2017 4.30pm – 7.30pm. 

Held at the Hilli restaurant and café, and including the Queen Victoria memorial gardens, Gallery Guava and the Fletcher’s Mutiny cyclorama you will enjoy a selection of hot and cold canapes, a variety of beer and wines, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages to the sounds of an acoustic guitarist. Mingle and meet others attending the Festival.

 

Taste Norfolk’s Bounty festival night Tuesday 28 Nov 5.30pm – 11.30pm.

Held in the old convict jail compound in the World Heritage area of Kingston, you will have a bountiful ‘Taste’ sensation from the many amazing food stalls offering mouth watering creations. There will be market and craft stalls, live entertainment, bar service all under festival lighting and a magical night sky. This is street food, island style.

 

Thanksgiving Day lunch. Wednesday 29 Nov from 12.30pm.

Thanksgiving Day is a celebrated tradition passed down from our Pitcairn and Whaler ancestors. Guests can attend a local Church service then enjoy a sumptuous buffet lunch of local dishes and sweet island desserts. Served under the pines at Emily bay lagoon, you will hear tales and recollections of the whaling days from a local elder.

 

Sunset Cinema Wednesday 29 Nov 5.00pm for children 6.30pm for adult screening

Relax and unwind as you enjoy watching ‘foodie’ movies in the great outdoors at this stunning cliff top property. The first screening will be for the kids followed by a movie for the big kids! Create your own evening picnic from little eat street and a bar service will be available.

 

Celebration Dinner Thursday 30 Nov 5.30pm.

Tonight you will be treated to a sumptuous seafood extravaganza! The local fish in all its varieties will be the star of the evening complimented by seasonal produce, seafood and local meats. This communal banquet with live entertainment is a perfect way to celebrate what will have been an amazing week of new found friends and flavour.

Experience 1. Norfolk Blue and 100 Acre Farm walking tour.  

The tour will commence at the old “Homestead” where you will learn about the history of the building, 100 Acre Farm and the acclaimed Norfolk Blue heritage herd.  During your walking tour, you will be introduced to the infamous “Mr Bull”, our new working Bull “Bubby” and of course some of the “girls”.  You will gain an appreciation of the size of 100 Acre Farm (the largest continuous farm on the Island) and see the Island’s only windmill.  You will also hear about the restoration of the Headstone Creek (which starts and finishes on 100 Acre Farm) during which time 10,000 native trees and grasses were planted, swales and leaky weirs constructed.  You will gain a rare insight into the day to day operations of this “Paddock to Plate” (really “Conception to Plate”) working farm.

 

Experience 2. Norfolk Blue Sausage making.

A fun and hands on session where you will learn to make delicious gourmet sausages using Norfolk Blue beef.  You will be able to  try your hand at “tying” the sausages and then get to sample your own work.

 

Experience 3. Culinary Journey.

A colourful Polynesian experience where you will enjoy Tahitian food cooked in the authentic and traditional underground oven “Ahima a”. The opening of the underground oven and traditional feast represents the food journey of our history from Tahiti to Pitcairn to Norfolk Island using local fresh produce and Island fish and meats.

 

Experience 4. Blue Kingfisher.

Direct descendants of Fletcher Christian share their ways of living off the land and waters showcasing the benefits of seasonal produce and fresh fish! Professional local fisherman will demonstrate how to handle the beauties from the surrounding oceans followed by cooking demonstrations and tasting plates accompanied with fresh  produce.

 

Experience 5. Pods Pickle factory.

Get a feel for how the locals live. Wander the .75 acre gardens of this privately owned home; learn about history of the property and discover how it is working for the future as Pods Pickle Factory. Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee while sampling local delicacies, jams and relishes made on the property from fresh local produce. This is followed by a traditional weaving demonstration.

 

Experience 6. The Barn.

A walk-about tour around the market and kitchen gardens of “Barnaby  Produce” and “The Barn” where you will meet two generations of one local family. This is followed by a combination of hands-on and demonstration cooking using seasonal produce gathered along the way. The focus will be on traditional island dishes using fresh picked produce. A relaxing tasting follows overlooking the gardens of The Barn.

 

Experience 7. Seriously Chocolate.

Have fun learning basic chocolate making techniques from the owner of Seriously Chocolate. These classes are filled with techniques and tips through to packaging and presentation. Enjoy morning or afternoon tea and take home goodies and recipes.
